The dial up setting tab of Huawei B880 lets us configure the wireless WAN profile, configure wireline WAN profile and configure other network settings easily. This tutorial will show you the settings of wireless WAN profile.
1Add a wireless WAN profile
- Choose Settings >Dial-up > Wireless WAN Profile.
- Click New Profile, set the profile-associated parameters.
- Enter User name and Password.
NOTE: If you don’t know the User name and Password, please contact your service provider to get it.
- Select a connection mode in Connection mode drop-down list.
*** Auto: The 4G Huawei B880 connects to the Internet automatically when once powered on. Once connected, the B880 will not automatically disconnect from the Internet.
*** Manual: The Huawei B880 Gateway connects to the Internet after you click Connect from the Connection page.
*** On demand: The Huawei B880 router automatically connects to the Internet when data transmission exists. The Huawei B880 disconnects from the Internet automatically if the period during which no data is transmitted exceeds the Max. idle time (s). If you are charged according to the length of time you are connected to the Internet, it is recommended that you select this mode.
NOTE: Max. idle time (s): This specifies the longest idle period for the Internet connection. In Auto mode, the Huawei B880 disconnects from the Internet automatically if no data is transmitted during this specified period.
- Click Save.
2Edit a wireless WAN profile
From Profile name, select the profile to modify. Click Edit to modify the WAN profile settings. And click Save.
2Delete a wireless WAN profile
From Profile name, select the profile to delete. And click Delete.
